Analysis Of The HBP Spaces (Composition)

Instead of just doing our assignment at indoor, this week we were given chance to go out for some fresh air. Yeah, it's analysis of our HBP spaces. After one month time, we as HBP student had already been explored to most of the HBP building. So i believe that it's not a big problem for us. Since I know more on details of building of HBP school, so i choose to do aspect of Information for my this project. I choose to focus my analysis on E08 and E40 building as both of it are building that we used the most in HBP school.

E40 - resource center, concrete center, computer laboratory
E08 - studios, environment laboratory, lecturer's room
Topography. Dark green represent the higher slope
when lighter green represent the lower slope.
Sun path and wind movement. Roughly shows how the
air moves between the building and the air ventilation.

The Mask, speculative

A mask of reaction when you enter a room or space? I get totally blank up when I first receive the title of this project. What kind of room or space to enter? What is the expression of mine would be on that time? How about the feeling in my deep heart? I get none from these question marks. No idea at all under such situation. Just when i see through the windows of my room, suddenly i get my inspiration. Without any hesitation, me and my friend start to do the ''mask facial''.

Here is the process of how to make the mask.....

Firstly, use PE Food Wrap to cover the face.
Then, put some tissue paper on it to do as
the basement of the mask.
Paste some papers on it to cover up the whole face
except the nose. Use glue to stick the
layer of tissue paper and the paper.

Insert more layer by putting more paper on the mask.
Ensure the whole face are completely covered with paper
except the nose. Wait the glue dry and the mask to turn harden.
Take the mask out. It is done!
Lastly, design and draw the expression
of the mask and then color it. It is fully completed!

So, i would like to explain the meaning of the mask.....

I lived at the 5th floor in Tekun Hostel. When i see through the window in my room at night time, what i see is a prosperous town with lots of cars and brighten house. Some people are seems to be very busy, rushing here and there or even dash over the traffic light. It is definitely a nice scenery at night time when all the buildings are brighten up with the light.

However, there is always a bad behind the good. Pollution of the town is so serious that the fog around the air of the city make the view kind of blurring. This is because of the countless of car in the city. Large amount of usage of electricity of the houses also provide non-environmental friendly. Basically all these will cause to pollution. These are all the human behaviors full of selfishness. Lots of frustration and sadness come to my deep heart. It is sad to see the human are still continuing to destroy our Earth even though the Earth has already injured. Everyone only care about their own wealth and status without caring others.

So here i decided to use a sad face with frustration to show out the selfishness and opinionated of human nowadays.

Special thanks to my roommate Jason for
helping me to do the ''face facial''. haha.
Thanks also to Nicholas for helping me.

Blueprint, paraline

Previously, students were asked to do a sculpture in sustainability. I had built a structure with mounting board and i named it ''triangular frame'' as it is built from several of small triangle frame. This week we are going to produce the drawing of plan and elevation from front, back, left and right side. We also need to produce an Axonomertic drawing which is in monochrome.

Because of my triangle shaped structure, all the measurements of the triangle have to be recalculated again as the height and length of the triangle are all different as seen from different angle of view. In another word, I started my Mathematics lesson earlier. Lots of calculations are involved to get all the measurements correctly. Seriously, it drives me crazy!

Sculpture, multiview

This week, students are going to do a monochrome color sculpture which related to sustainability theme. I decided to do a triangular shaped building which made from several of small triangle. Mounting board is the only material I going to use here.

Drawing out the structure to make sure all the triangle
with different number of hole on it so that it does fit correctly.
Cut the mounting board and fold it into triangle shape.
Cut out the holes for the intersection between triangle.
By using intersection between the holes
on the triangles, sample is out.

Taken when it is in dark condition.

Next, coloring it with blue color on random triangle.
Lastly, make all the triangles more firmly by using super glue.
Stick it on a mounting board with measurement 30x30x60cm.

The Cube, perspective

By using the model created last week, students were asked to draw out perspective drawing of own model. I decided to use 2 points and 1 point perspective drawing to draw out first and second layer of my model. Went to studio and get started with my work by first taking the photo.

The angle of view of my model which i like to draw.
By using 2 points and 1 point perspective drawing, my drawing is out!
Coloring all faces of cubes with respective colour on it.
Adding shadow toning effect..
